Racing in the Rain

A classic motorcycle "Racing in the Rain" is an original framed oil painting on canvas 36 x 48 x 1 in. 

After launching my first business called GLAZE, a creative brand services studio, my first contract was with the Texas Dept. of Transportation. I was hired to art direct two public service announcement television commercials and a statewide print advertising campaign that included posters, billboards, brochures, magazine and newspaper advertising for the Texas Motorcycle Safety Bureau. 

I believe that is the energy that caused this concept to manifest.  As anyone who has ever rode a motorcycle in the rain will tell you that it is a tricky dangerous situation, even for the most skilled riders.  That in itself is somewhat of an attraction for many who like to go fast and be daring.

I owned a Honda V45 Sabre for a time and had great fun on it until I took a slight curve on a small farm road at 140 mph.  The bike slid to the left about 2.5 feet, I let off the throttle and coasted to a safe speed through the rest of the curving highway. The only thing still racing at high speed was my heart as the bike slowed to a normal pace. I sold the bike soon after knowing my propensity for daredevil behavior.
